DAY 01 - Colombo
At the airport you will be met by your chauffeur for a private transfer to Colombo. Arrive and check-in to the hotel In the afternoon set on a sightseeing tour of Colombo, the Commercial Capital. Take a stroll around the Gangaramaya Temple, Dutch Hospital and Independence Square or even at the Galle Face Green. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Colombo
DAY 02 - Colombo – Anuradhapura - Kandalama
After a leisurely breakfast this morning you will proceed to Anuradhapura. Set out to the oldest capital of Sri Lanka, the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, (4th century BC to 11th century). This is one of the largest archaeological sites in the world and was declared an UNESCO heritage site in 1982. Thereafter proceed to Kandalama . Arrive and check-in to the hotel in Kandalama
DAY 03 - Kandalama – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa
After breakfast you will leave for climb Sigiriya fortress. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress and palace built by King Kashyapa during the reign of 473 – 495 which is standing majestically 660 feet straight up. It is located in the northern Matale district near the town of Dambulla in central province of Sri Lanka. The word Sigiriya or the Sinhagiri means the Lion’s Rock where you have to climb up 1200 steps before you reach the Lion Rock Fortress on top of Sigiriya. Late morning leave for Habarana to experience an authentic village living. This excursion is comprised of a bullock cart ride, a catamaran safari and a typical Sri Lankan lunch at a farmer’s house. Thereafter, proceed to ancient city Polonnaruwa and set on a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa Kingdom or the Ancient city of Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka for three centuries between the 11th to 13th century after the destruction of Anuradhapura Kingdom in 993. After that return to the hotel.
DAY 04 - Kandalama – Dambulla – Kandy
After breakfast proceed to Kandy via Dambulla. Enroute visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. Dambulla Temple is a Cave Temple Complex in Sri Lanka located in Matale district in Central province of the country. This is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka at an altitude of 1118 feet from the mean sea level rises a enormous rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 FT high and over 2000 FT in length providing a panoramic view of the surrounding flat lands. Continue to Kandy. Visit Spice Garden in Matale. Arrive and check-in to the hotel in Kandy. Afternoon, wonder around the lake city and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Located in Kandy, long a centre of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani, every day. Late evening experience a Kandyan cultural performance.
DAY 05 - Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya, known as "Little England". See the mountains covered with tea bushes and cascading waterfalls. you could either travel this distance by vehicle or train. A train journey is truly a rare experience and is an adventure itself! Apart from the breath taking sceneries of the tea country and picturesque waterfalls, it is a chance for you to mingle with the local people. (On availability) Arrive and check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit a tea factory and plantation to see the tea making process. Enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea at this tea factory of Sri Lanka.
DAY 06 -Nuwara Eliya – Airport
Today early in the morning you can visit Horton plain national park (Optional tour) Horton Plains in Sri Lanka, is the coldest and windiest location in the country. It consists of ecosystems such as Montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem. Thereafter leave for the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for your departure flight back home.
