DAY 01 - Anuradhapura

At the airport you will be met by your chauffeur for a private transfer to Anuradhapura (a World Heritage Site) (175km / approx. 3.5 hrs) which has a history of over 2500 years. It was the first capital and undoubtedly the greatest city of ancient Sri Lanka. You will also visit The Sri Maha Bodhi (sacred Bo tree) the world’s oldest documented tree. Ruwanweliseya (2nd century BC ) is the most famous of all the Dagobas (dome-shaped shrines) and the Isurumuniya Rock Temple (3rd century BC) which is known for its rock paintings.

DAY 02 - Cultural Triangle – Anuradhapura - Wilpattu National Park

You will drive to Wilpattu National Park (80km / approx 2.5 hrs) for a jeep safari. Wilpattu National Park is Sri Lanka’s largest national park. The park is dotted with scenic lakes and swathes of dense dry woodland which support an array of wildlife including crocodiles, elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer and the elusive leopard. In the evening you visit Mihintale, the city where the religion of Buddhism first convinced the people of Sri Lanka and found followers.

DAY 03 - Cultural Triangle – Anuradhapura - Sigiriya

After breakfast drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Polonnaruwa. The second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, today you will visit multiple archaeological sites. Today you will check-in to a hotel in Sigiriya.

DAY 04 - Cultural Triangle – Sigiriya

Set off this morning for Sigiriya, also known as the ‘Lion Rock’ (25km / approx. 45 mins). This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions.

DAY 05 - Cultural Triangle - Sigiriya – Dambulla - Kandy

Today you will drive towards Kandy with a stop to visit the Dambulla cave temples en route (95km / approx. 3 hrs). Continue the drive to Kandy where you will arrive in the afternoon to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, followed by a show of cultural dance performances.

DAY 06 - Kandy

After breakfast visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela. Then return to Kandy to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. In the afternoon take a city tour of Kandy. You will be driven to Peradeniya a vibrant and green city. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, which Peradeniya is most famous for. One of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Asia. Returning back to Kandy where depending on your mood and time availability, travel to Kandy Lake and Kandy Bazaar, where you can take a stroll through the Kandy market.

DAY 07 - Kandy

Today you will visit a number of monestries and temples. (Gadaladeniya Monastery, Lankatilaka Monastery, Embekke Devale and Niyam Paya Vihara)

DAY 08 - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Drive to Nuwara Eliya (80km / approx. 3 Hours), also known as "Little England". See the mountains covered with tea bushes and cascading waterfalls. En route you will visit a tea factory and plantation to see the tea making process. Then you can take a city tour of Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 09 - Nuwara Eliya - Ella

Take a nature trail trip to Horton Plains, better known as "World's End". Here various birds & butterfly life, flora & fauna can be seen here. Then you will head towards Ella (56km / approx. 2 Hours).

DAY 10 - Ella

Today you can explore Ella town and the many attractions it has.

DAY 11 - Ella - Udawalawe

Drive to Udawalawe (95km / approx. 2.5 Hours). On the way, you will visit the Buduruwagala Temple where nine statues were originally carved into a large rock dating back to the 10th century. Check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, you will go on a safari at the Udawalawe National Park which is home to over 400 wild elephants who are permanent residents there.

DAY 12 - Udawalawe - Hikkaduwa

Today you will drive to Hikkaduwa (145km / approx. 2.5 Hours) which is on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka where you can spend some time relaxing on the beach or by the pool.

DAY 13 - Hikkaduwa

Visit a turtle hatchery that aims at protecting and saving the sea turtles that visit the golden shores of the island. Then you will visit a mask factory and a moonstone mine finally returning back to the hotel to relax on the beach or by the pool.

DAY 14 - Hikkaduwa - Galle

Visit the city of Galle and see the lighthouse and the old town. You will also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Dutch Fort.

DAY 15 - Hikkaduwa

Enjoy your day exploring the south-west region visiting different beaches, restaurants and bars.

DAY 17 - Hikkaduwa - Colombo

Head to Sri Lanka's capital city, Colombo. On the way, take a boat trip on the Madhu River and experience the rich bird life & village life along the river. In the afternoon you will go on a sightseeing tour around Colombo, visiting the fort complex, Pettah, Sea Street and the town hall area. There is time for some shopping and If you like nightlife, you can visit a number of bars.

DAY 18 - Colombo - Airport

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Airport.
